Over All appearance:
If you were to ask Thurston, he'd say he was "very average looking". By this he means he sees himself as the type of person that wouldn't stick out in a crowd, the type of face you can forget. Whether this is true or not is a matter of opinion. In build he is a fairly short boy at 5'7", something his mates very seldom allow him to forget. In build he's not exactly a wrestler, to be honest, but his muscles are defined enough to prevent him from looking totally wimpy. He's also skinny thanks to the amount of exercise he does, although he eats like a pig. Fast metabolism is a blessing. One thing he hates is how feminine his hands are, or at least how feminine he thinks they are. He has long, thin fingers and although his palm is broad, his skin is fairly soft, especially for a boy. No matter what he does they are always like this though, something that drives him crazy.
As for his face, it's quite round in shape. He's always had good skin and he rarely gets pimples, despite the fact he eats his own body weight in junk almost every day. His skin tone is as pale as his mother's, but he thankfully didn't inherit her family's freckles. I tell a lie, he had them when he was younger, but as he grew older they faded and became less and less, until he now doesn't have any at all. In the sun they make a reappearance, usually with sunburn. Thurston never ever tans, just burns.
Naturally, Thurston inherited his parent's dark hair. This is something he resented and felt was incredibly boring, and so dyed a sandy blonde shade instead. He was considering dying it platinum blonde, but felt it was too much and therefore left it at the shade it had turned after he'd applied a lightening treatment to it, happy enough with this result. One thing he really hates that he also inherited from his dad was the fact his hair is curly naturally. He beats this with straighteners, of course, but since he tends to go out for days on end he doesn't always have the equipment to do this and therefore has to live with it. Unlike his father Thurston has dark eyes, inherited from his mother's side of the family. They're medium in size and oval in shape, the shade of brown a fairly dark one. A sure fire way to know what he's thinking or feeling is to look him in the eyes, since it's always obvious. Another thing he fears is too feminine about his appearance is his eyelashes. They are long and dark naturally, making him feel like a total girl. Being a girl is something he's incredibly paranoid about appearing, in case you hadn't picked up on it. ;]
As for clothes Thurston generally puts on anything he picks up off his floor, as long as it's clean. He does know how to dress himself though, so if he wants to dress up he can do it well. Normally he wears band t-shirts and jeans with military jackets, that sort of look. As I mentioned he has a bit of an obsession with t-shirts and collects them religiously, so he has a massive selection of various ones, ranging from band merch to school P.E. uniforms. Oh, Thurston also has a tattoo on his right arm.

Personality
Thurston is a very likable guy. He's generally friendly, as long as he's around people he feels he should be friendly to and he is in a good mood. Although having said that, Thruston has a tendency to be overly judgmental. Although he'll talk to anyone, hes often prone to being rude and says what he's thinking no matter what the consequences might be. It was this sort of thing that often got him into trouble when he was in school, as he'd be being told off by the head for swearing in class or some other petty crime, and he'd just laugh and say "not getting much at home, are you?". He doesn't do this to directly be cheeky - even if it is something he's frequently called - he just lacks he knowledge of when to keep his mouth shut. In this light he can be very offensive and also very annoying, but it's not something he can change (not that he particularly wants to). He was brought up to treat everyone with respect unless they display certain actions that mean they don't deserve it, and he does stick to this...sometimes. OK, not really, but he's not a bad person, honest! Tactless, that's all. Around people he seems fairly confident, talking to anyone who's interested and laughing at or making jokes.
Speaking of jokes, they're a main feature when it comes to Thurston. He's a complete joker and is unable to take situations seriously, no matter how much he really should. His humor ranges quite a bit, but he describes it as "crude in a somewhat sophisticated manner." An oxymoron, I am aware, but it actually fits. He's not the type of person to laugh at something when it really isn't funny, but he has a talent for making apparently unfunny things seem hilarious. He used to be incredibly shy and sometimes this shows through in certain situations, but he's mostly managed to get past it through humor. Laughter is the answer to everything, he believes, as it makes people feel comfortable and it also scores him quite a bit of popularity simply because he's fun to be around. Thurston has never been one to do anything that makes him feel uneasy or as if he's being bossed around, so by joking around he generally becomes an equal with people, meaning he isn't ordered around by anyone. Taking that into consideration, it wasn't surprising school wasn't right for him.
Thurston actually has a very short patience a lot of the time, meaning that whenever he's accused unfairly - or, more often, when he believes he's being accused unfairly - he can get ridiculously defensive and quite aggressive in the process. When he's gotten it into his head that he dislikes someone it's very hard to get him out of it as he's a stubborn one, still holding grudges from primary school. However, he's also very lazy (another good reason to drop out of school) and if someone attempts to make it up with him, providing their crime wasn't too treacherous, he'll usually forgive them as it's less effort than arguing. Having said that, he's also one to stick to first impressions, and if you give a poor one you'll really have to work hard to change his mind. Strong-minded, I guess you could say. This also applies to his beliefs, which he sticks to like glue, although he's open to others.
When it comes to friends, Thurston is actually very loyal indeed. I suppose this ties in with him being so strong-willed; once you're in, you're in. He finds it difficult to accept when a friend has done something wrong, even if it's to another friend, and probably gives out more second chances than he should. He's a very outgoing and sociable boy, and therefore likes to surround himself with people as often as he possibly can. Most people love knowing him on a good-friends level as he's endlessly fun to be around and never really mopes or anything of the sort, but he's almost insufferable when you want him to be serious or really need him to listen as he's more into making jokes and avoiding all awkward situations of any kind.
History:
Thurston was the second child to Sam and Tyson Ritter, born on the twenty-ninth of october. From a young age he was paraded around like a show dog by his mother, who told anyone who would listen that he was going to grow up and be great, "she just knew it". Some may think she doted on him a little too much when he was baby and it might have been someone directly telling her this that made her so dramatically change in her parenting style as Thurston grew older. You see, she went from an overly affectionate mother to what Thurston describes as a more or less robotic mother. She was a whole lot sterner on him and she very seldom showed him affection, thinking that this would stop him from going off the rails. Not surprisingly this logic proved to be as stupid as it sounded, although that's not to say Thurston was ever a really bad kid.
You see, he was just bored. His parents have labeled him ADHD but he thinks that such a title is a pathetic excuse for an actual diagnosis, saying he shouldn't have to be medicated for having a short attention span. And so he never was. Thurston was very fond of his family as he grew up, however, and at the beginning of his school career he actually did his best to excel, wanting to live up to the expectations of his parents and make everyone proud. In school academically he was not a bad student, just lazy. He put little to no effort into everything he did and sometimes it showed, although sometimes he scraped some good grades. This just encouraged him never to put any effort in, in all honesty. From about age ten Thurston realized how much he hated school, how much he hated being compared to what was considered the standards he should be living up to and, of course, that age old hatred of being bossed around. It wasn't at all surprising Thurston never got along with the teachers, since he was nosy, he always made other students laugh, he reacted badly to punishment and, above all, had famous parents.
I mention this because it gained him special treatment, something he never actually asked for. Basically, teachers would have much further boundaries when it came to Thurston, and on the one occasion he was actually suspended, it was for something that any other student would have been expelled for. His parents' fame wasn't just a problem for him in school, oh no, it was carried further than that. It probably wouldn't be so bad if Thurston actually liked his dad's music, but as it stands he thinks it's just about as shite as music can get. Charming. This probably contributes to why he hates being noticed and recognized so much, although he doesn't really like attention unless it's earned generally. He holds his dad 100% responsible for this, which is sort of fair enough, but he really gives him hell for it. In fact, as an act of rebellion, Thurston went against his parents' wishes at seventeen and did the dirty; he dropped out of school.
This was Thurston's dream, even if it was his parents' nightmare. He loved every aspect of this "foolish" move; being able to sleep in every day, having no exam stress, being free to do whatever he wished. Of course this couldn't last long, as his parents weren't just going to allow it to be that easy. Oh no, that would be ridiculous. It was Tyson who came up with the idea to dock Thurston's allowance for every month that went past and he was unemployed, a strategy of tough love that Thurston loathed. It worked, though. After a few months Thurston was left without a penny to his name, and he eventually caved and got a job as an intern at some office. He doesn't actually know what the office produces or works towards, that's just how much attention he pays. Anyway, he's just counting down the days 'till they fire him, which can't be long since he frequently comes in hung over or even slightly drunk, and he's been caught swearing and making up stupid announcements over the intercom more times than he can count. Well, he was never very good at maths. Thurston basically wants to live to have fun, but pretty soon he'll have to realize things are never that easy.
