Moonlight illuminated the pier, a single leg swung back and forth, slung over the edge. Brown eyes gazed up at the night sky that was dotted with brilliant stars. India had walked around with a weight on her shoulders for days; she'd had a spat with Deryck and she still felt uneasy around him; she was afraid he'd just turn around and do it all again despite her wishes. She couldn't stop him; she could only advise, yell, and drag his sorry ass out of clubs while he was drugged up, hoping he'd get the picture. And right now, she wasn't sure if he did. India lay sprawled on the peer, one leg bent, but the other hanging freely, dangling above the vast ocean. Her blond hair - now highlighted orange and red - hung in her face, but she didn't bother brushing it away. She hugged her jacket closer to her body, the hood pulled up over her head. She felt so small, so insignificant. The incident had left her feeling oddly empty, and she didn't know why. She was alone on the beach, the tides rolling against the sand, leaving shells and other random items. However, India didn't get all sandy on the pier, and she didn't get wet. That was always a bonus.

Helena walked slowly around the pier, her feet dragging as she walked. Her hair was down, long and black with orange streaks in it. She had black eyeliner, mascara, and an orangish red eyeshadow on. Along with black jeans and a My Chemical Romance hoodie. Her eyes were glued to the ground as she walked, her hands stuffed inside her hoodie pockets.
She couldn’t tell if anyone else was on the beach or not, at least not right now. But that was only because she wasn’t looking where she going, only at the ground. Though, she could hear the tides rolling against the sand. A slight sigh escaped her lips. She loved that sound, it was so soothing and peaceful. Helena let her eyes close for a few seconds as she listened to the water. But she kept on walking, her head no longer looking downward, it was looking straight. Not that it helped, since her eyes were closed. Finally, she opened them. And just in time to, otherwise she would have tripped. Over a girl. A smile crept onto her face, ”Hi! Sorry I almost ran into you, eyes were closed.” she shurgged, laughing slightly. Helena examined the girl closely, then pulled her into a tight hug for a few seconds, then letting go. Her smile grew, ”You looked liked you needed it.”

India kept her gaze fixated on the sky, watching as a plane passed overhead, filling the beach momentarily with a thunderous sound. She'd grown used to it, though; Miami had an airport close to the beach, so it wasn't a new sound obviously. She didn't know how late it was, but she didn't want to stay in her apartment. The repetitiveness of her days had hit her hard; she hated having everything the same day after day, she loved change. It was one reason her hair color never stayed the same color for too long, the same with her wardrobe. She was a woman who liked change; she usually welcomed it with open arms. But if something stayed the same too long, it drove her nuts until something else came along to break the habit. She was very, very tired right now, but she wanted to just stay here a bit longer and hopefully stay awake. It'd be wonderful to get some sleep, but she hardly ever slept at night; something about sleeping during the daytime seemed so much more appealing to her. Suddenly, she sat up, hearing someone walking towards her, then a voice. It had startled her, to say the least. She couldn't help but smile, though, at the fact the stranger had given her a hug, and the explanation to go along with it. India, under different circumstances, wouldn't like being hugged by a stranger, but right now it was true; she did need it. "Thanks," she said after awhile. It'd been awhile since she'd been hugged for anything; even if she did look like she 'needed' it.

Helena smiled, sitting down next to the girl. ”Your welcome. I tend to hug everyone I see, but you looked liked you needed it, so I had to. Well, if I didn’t then I probably would of felt bad.” she shrugged, like hugging her was nothing. Well, to Helena it was nothing. Her eyes looked out to the ocean. She loved looking at it, that and the night sky. They both always looked beautiful to her. Made her feel like even if some was far away, that they were still close by.
Something finally clicked in her mind, she didn’t know the girls name. It took her long enough to figure that out. ”Um, so what’s your name? Mines Helena.” she told her, she was about to add ‘like the song’ but decided against it. She thought it might sound a bit stupid. Helena never took her eyes off of the ocean, watching the tides roll up onto the sand. [/blockquote]

India smiled faintly. The last hug she'd received was from Derry, saying how sorry he was and all that jazz. She was still slightly miffed at him, but who could blame him really? He was sixteen, no real place to go, and he had no common sense whatsoever. If India hadn't gotten him out of the club that night - or, more precisely, followed her and let her lead him out - she didn't know what would've happened. "I don't hug people very often, nor do I recieve hugs all that often either. It's a welcome change," she commented. She looked over at the girl, examining her face, trying to piece together why she looked so familiar. Helena, the name sounded familiar enough, but she didn't know why. Probably a girl that had gone to her school before India graduated, maybe? "I'm India," she said with a smile.

Helena smiled, she knew most people didn’t hug others that often. she was different, and she liked it. She also liked knowing that she was one of the few that hugged people often. Though she rarely got hugged back, which was something Helena didn’t like. Helena was always one to think ‘to do others what you would want them to do to you’. So she was normally nice to everyone, except those she hated, and hugged people a lot. Even though, she liked it when people asked her for help, but she never asked anyone else for help. With anything. Well, not normally. She wasn’t one to want others to do things for her, she liked doing things for herself.
”Well, ever need or want a hug, come find me. I’m always good at giving hugs.” she told her, smiling and with a slight laugh. Helena took her eyes off of the ocean and focused in on the girl. She looked familiar, and for some reason she thought she had heard the name ‘India’ before. But she didn’t ponder on that long. ”Pretty name.” Helena told her. [/blockquote]
